Bail Bond amounts are set by a Magistrate and are not negotiable without a motion for bond reduction hearing which can take several weeks to be scheduled on a docket and be heard in criminal court. At the bond reduction hearings, both the Attorney for the defendant and Attorneys from the State Attorney’s Office will be heard on their reasonings and recommendations. It will then be decided by a magistrate if the bail bond amount will stay the same or be reduced. For more information, on bond reduction hearings contact your attorney.

What’s the Difference Between a Bail and a Bond?

When a defendant is taken into custody, they will confront a judge for a bail hearing. Bail is the amount the arrestee will have to pay for a conditional release. While this doesn’t mean they are free from their charges, they can await necessary court proceedings from the comfort of their home. This freedom is essential for a defendant with important responsibilities, such as caring for children or work.

If you can’t afford the cost of the bail and need to know how to bail someone out of jail in Florida, you may need a bond or bail bond. A bond is a loan that helps you pay your loved one’s bail without breaking the bank. All you have to do is fill out the required paperwork and pay a portion of the bail amount. Your bondsman in Miami may also require additional collateral, depending on the circumstances of the arrest.
