  • HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

Bail bonds in Broward County require 10% of the total bond amount to be paid to secure release. There is a $100 bond minimum. The amount declared to post bail is non-negotiable and varies greatly depending on the circumstances and charges of the arrest. Crimes held in federal court require a 15% minimum to be paid before release.

Bail Bond amounts are set by a Magistrate and are not negotiable without a motion for bond reduction hearing which can take several weeks to be scheduled on a docket and be heard in criminal court. At the bond reduction hearings, both the Attorney for the defendant and Attorneys from the State Attorney’s Office will be heard on their reasonings and recommendations. It will then be decided by a magistrate if the bail bond amount will stay the same or be reduced. For more information, on bond reduction hearings contact your attorney.

If the crime is being held in a federal court, law requires the bail bondsman to charge 15%. These charges are set by statute, and all bail bond companies must charge the same amount.

All About Bail and Bail Bonds

If you’re wondering how to bail someone out of jail in Florida, we’re here to help. Bail is an integral part of the American justice system that allows the defendant freedom until any necessary court proceedings related to arrest. Bail is a refundable deposit used as collateral to ensure that the arrestee returns to court on the designated date.

Bail amounts vary depending on the severity of the alleged crime or misdemeanor–thus, not every case will allow for the defendant to post bail. Bail can cost as little as 500 dollars, going well into thousands of dollars. This range means that the arrestee may not be able to afford the cost of bail, meaning they may have to stay in jail until their court date. These amounts can be devastating, especially for those who have committed minor, non-violent infractions or are innocent. This is where bonds come in.

Bail Bonds

Broward county bail bonds are your ticket to freedom. Bonds are essentially a loan–allowing you or the person you are bailing immediate release, even if they can’t afford it. This essential service enables the defendant to continue their day-to-day activities before the court date. They may have children to care for or a job to attend.

To protect the bondsman, you may be required to pay 10-15 percent of the bond and additional collateral. These funds ensure that the defendant will attend all the necessary court proceedings.
